There Are Nearly 8,000 Farmers Market in the U.S. Contributing Nearly $1.2 Billion in Annual Sales
Wilton, NY – After touring the Healthy Living Market and Café in Wilton Mall, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will announce new legislation that would expand markets for farmers and increase the availability of nutritious locally-grown food for consumers. TheLocal Farms, Food, and Jobs Act would help New York farmers by addressing production, aggregation, marketing and distribution needs while helping consumers access and afford fresh, nutritious food.
The Healthy Living Market and Café opened in Wilton last month featuring products from nearly 50 local farmers and producers. This family-owned business has made a commitment to supporting local agriculture and building a strong community and local economy.
