I love Pickpocket and the recent updates have been really cool.

But I have a long reading list --  it'll never get down to zero -- and seeing the red badge now just brings unnecessary attention and anxiety to my toolbar UI.  I'd prefer not to have it display at all.

Can there PLEASE be a preference to turn this badge off, for users who don't need it?  Thanks...

Hi,

Thanks for the email. You're supposed to be able to disable the badge by setting the check interval to 0. Is that not working for you?

Ah yes, that does indeed work!  Thanks for that.  I wouldn't have thought to try it.

The UI could be a tad clearer... perhaps more description there, or better yet, a distinct checkbox?  When "show badge" is checked, then the "Check for New Links" interval slider becomes un-grayed, or something like that...

Hi.

I agree with Fofer.

I also think that the list refresh and the badge count behaviors should be configured independently i.e. the user should be able to disable the badge count without disabling the list refresh.

Thanks.

But what would be the point of having the periodic check for new items if you don't use that information in a button badge?

In my case, the auto-refresh list is something nice to have, but I have 350+ articles to read. I know I'll read all of then eventually, but that will take a long long time. So for now the badge is much more an annoyance than something useful.

But the extension always updates your unread list when you open the popover anyway. There is no need to have a periodic check except to update a button badge.

Hummm, I see…

Then IMHO the UI needs to better explain that (tweak the labels a little bit, dunno).

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'll think about it.

Thanks,
