Hi Leslie
Our little pup was exactly the same when she was young. She just gradually put on weight and starting eating more and playing less with age.
Hope this helps.

It's not that Jesse doesn't like food, he is just so energetic always running, jumping, hopping and barely sits still long enough to look at it, and as far as they won't starve themselves yes I agree and have not been to bothered except he drops weight fast and having to look at him with his ribs sticking out drastically did not fill me with joy LOL I was just hoping there might be some tips as to what people feed their dogs or find works well. The only thing I have had no success with them eating and have tried pretty much every one is the canned stuff. Jesse is my devil pup that's for sure LOL am thinking he needs to go into agility/flyball with his energy hahaha

As with children, they will not starve themselves to death. They are training you at the moment. I think I was listening to Dr Aspinall on the radio a little while ago. He had a client whose dog would only eat roast chicken. This had developed over time. The dog initially refused dog food so she gave it left overs and so on and so on. It is up to you what the dogs eat, not them J

Thanks Emma, jesse seems so uninterested in food unless it's chicken necks/wings or chews. He demolishes them in moments and Walter takes forever to eat his which causes no end of strife LOL I'll ask for some lamb neck thank you.

How old are they? Toby gets slices of lamb neck (you can get them at most butchers and they should slice them into pieces for you if you ask), and he loves them, keeps him occupied chewing for a bit.
Otherwise they seem to have a mixed diet, shouldn't be missing out on anything.

Hi everyone,
Its been a few hectic months over here and we haven't had the chance to meet everyone yet, the boys are growing fast and keep us very entertained and exhausted LOL
Are there any meet ups happening soon? Both boys have had all their shots completed and we've been socialising them as best we can but I do think a play date in the park is just what they need.
Also what is everyone feeding their Dachshunds? I'm finding it hard to get weight on Jesse at the moment, both boys refuse to eat canned food no matter what it is, which is ok by me but I am worried they aren't getting enough of what they need. I feed raw and also veggies little bit of fruit, raw chicken necks and wings, mince (chicken and beef, have just tried them on some kangaroo) They also get cooked chicken with some veggies. Am I missing anything??
Looking forward to meeting you all and your beautiful babies.
Leslie and Peter xx
