Hi All,
I have collected the responses, and thanks to everyone who offered their preferances. Below are the results:

  1. The date that was voted for most was Sunday the 2nd of December.
  2. Almost everyone thinks we should do it in Yarralumla
  3. According to the survey, 34 people (no dogs) will be coming, no vegeterians or special diet needs

With that in mind, lets start planning this. I want to start selling tickets so we can purchase the food. For that, we need to decide what we want, calculate the cost for a single person, and I can set up a ticket purchasing site so you can transfer money to us and we will purchase everything in costco. We were thinking of some knackwursts (costco sells them in packs of 10, they are easy to cook), a varaiety of soft drinks in an ice bucket, and BYO if you want something stronger.

We also need to scout a location (which we can do this weekend) - we are looking for an area with a hot plate, not in the section that doesnt allow dogs, near the yarralamla dog park. If anyone knows of any tricks to assure that we will have a good location, please let us know.

Please respond to this email with opinions or suggestions, so by the end of the week we can announce officially the ticket price and start preparations.

Thanks Ishai.

Anna and I will be coming.  We would like to bring Wolfie, Heidi and Nicky? Sausages and coleslaw and bread work for us. J

Cheers

David

Another discussion point - would people prefer lunch time, or dinner time? seeing it is still light late these days, we can probably do a meetup at 17:00 followed by a sizzle at 18:00 and reduce the UV and heat risks. However, we may want to be flexible on the day in case of rains...

As it is a Sunday I would prefer lunch time.

Hello Ishai,

Margaret and I will attend and we will bring the terrible trio of Albert, Penny and Woody.  A noon event sounds good to us.  We would be happy with a simple sausage sizzle (Knackwurst) with soft drinks or stronger as you suggested.

Hi Ishai,

Sounds great! Pete and I will definitely come along with Sascha and Buckley. Any time of the day works for us. Knackwurst, some pre-made cosco salads (I guess they've got them?) and soft drinks sound good, and maybe some sauce and bread to go with the snags? and some chips and dips too? :)

Regarding location, I think that the closest place to the dog park that has BBQ's and also allows dogs is the area behind the Hyatt (I think it's called Lennox Gardens?), which could be quite nice. Otherwise somewhere in Commonwealth Park?

Thanks for organising this!!

Hi guys,

Sounds good to us, Bek & I should be able to come along with Otto & Zorro - I'll confirm soon.

Lennox Garden's isn't actually a dog-friendly place - the TAMS website shows it as dogs prohibited. I'm not sure if there are bbqs at one of the areas on Alexandrina Drive between the dog park and the yacht club?
