This is a story I have heard all too often - that it is cheaper to pay
a small-ish tax debt that you don't owe rather than fight it.

I know a couple of folks in the States that got refunds out of their IRS
audits. In both cases, the IRS guy was happy. As long as there was something
"wrong," their audit was justified. Apparently they don't care which way the
money goes. AK
