Police Search For Gunman

DETROIT -- Detroit police are searching for a gunman responsible for fatally
shooting a 4-month-old baby boy in northwest Detroit.
Investigators said shots came through an apartment early Sunday morning and hit
the baby, who was lying with his mother on the couch.
Police said the baby was struck in the head.
Police said they believe the shooting was not a random act, but they’re not sure
who the actual target was.
The baby’s mother is helping the investigation, but there are few leads, police
said.
"Considering what she's going through, she is being as helpful as she possibly
can," said Detroit Deputy Police Chief Marshall Lyons. "She's naturally
distraught, as anyone would be after losing a child."
Anyone with information is asked to call Detroit police or Crime Stoppers at
1-800-SPEAKUP.
