criminals. Canada is far softer on corporate criminals, most often they
never even see the inside of a jail.

Actually people go to jail for pointing guns at other people even when
they don't get a dime.

At least two suicides have been caused by Madoff's crime. Does that not
make it a crime as violent as armed robbery? The effects of great financial
loss on people can be devastating.
BTW, most robberies aren't armed.

No. Even if it did, the standard is still not one year in jail per so
many thousands of dollars stolen.

Seems to me to be a good rule of thumb. Bank robbery is not a high
probability crime. 90% of all local bank robberies are solved by the
