Mark Hansel would come back empty handed and blame his bad luck on the
Bilderburgers, government, contrails, vaccines, UFOs, and 9/11. Never
mind that he wasn't actually armed because the authorities don't let
crazy people have guns.

Crap Detector would come back reeking of Alberta rye and a story about
missing a trophy bull. When he recants his story people yawn, roll
their eyes in disbelief, and generally make excuses to escape his
presence. One individual, incapable of evading Crap Detector and his
drunken boasting, shoots himself in the foot just to get away. Fox News
reports that Crap Detector had a great and successful hunt.

Neil and Archie come back with an enormous bull moose. The socialist
doctrine of sharing the wealth prevails and the meat is divided equally
among the community. The meat then rots because they never bothered to
check if anyone actually wanted moose meat.

Old Bob Peffers would come back with a big fat white man....

Not at all Chimpy, I do hunting all the time and the thing is you didn't
know that, because you don't know myself at all and are willfully ignorant
of such things about people, like many other socilaists (sock puppets) who
claim not only outright lies to mislead people, but which you yourself like
to claim the world is your personal place, to push government terrorism on
law abidding citizen's. That's makes you a socilaist kook and retard....How
do you face yourself in the morning when you look in the mirror, and it
plain to see you would respond with some more socilaist kookery nonsense,
that you can...Herr Chimpy, get a real life as this fake world you preserve
is just abnother fanasty of yours...

Oh it is interesting too how you socilaist also whine about issues that you
niether have a clue about in the first place...

You mean Cut Off By Google? Now there's a guy who would definitely come
back empty handed. First, COBG would ask the moose for consent to end
its life. Then, as the moose responds by stomping COBG's life out with
antler and hoof (without COBG's consent, of course) he manages to escape
death and go home, where he fills his belly with tofu wieners.

I would end up being bored to death, drive out and hit a Moose,
killing it instantly.

Then the debate over "is road kill supper" would begin.

Posted at 8:44 AM on July 2, 2009 by Doug Powell
Roadkill burgers banned in Newfoundland

"I've been involved in getting moose for over 30 years from wildlife,
and I have never heard of anyone ever getting sick from eating a moose
burger."

So says Dave Barker, who works for the Knights of Columbus in Grand
Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland.

I hear similar sentiments all the time. It’s completely meaningless.

If someone got sick from a past practice, they would probably not
accurately link it to a specific food; if they died, they wouldn’t be
around to complain.

But perhaps the bureaucrats in the Canadian province of Newfoundland
have gone a bit too … bureaucratic.

The provincial government recently discontinued the donation of
roadkill moose meat, and charity groups say the decision strips them
of a vital source of fundraising.

For decades, wildlife officers have offered charities moose killed in
road collisions. The charities had butchers mince the meat into
burgers, a very popular treat in the province, and held community
barbecues and other events to raise money for their various causes.

"It depends on how much moose is actually destroyed in the accident,
but normally you get at least two moose burger sales out of one moose,
so you're looking at anywhere from $2,500 to $3,000," said Shane
Budgell, president of the Lions Club in Grand Falls-Windsor.

The government's decision comes after the province's auditor general
flagged problems earlier this year about the department's donations of
wild game meat.

"The department did not always track where all of the meat from a
particular animal was sent," John Noseworthy wrote in his annual
report.

After a review, the government decided to stop donating roadkill moose
meat, saying the practice would expose them to liability if any health
or safety risks arose.

Moose are ruminants, and there have been outbreaks of E. coli O157:H7
associated with moose meat (it’s not just corn-fed feedlot cattle; I'm
talking to you, Michael Pollan and Food Inc.).

But rather than ban the use of roadkill, why not have better training
for butchers and food service types and teach them how to not cross-
contaminate and use tip-sensitive thermometers to ensure the meat is
prepared safely?

Hansel would then spend the next month posting literally THOUSANDS of
messages on USENET claiming that moose-hunters are being targeted by a
government conspiracy to wipe out moose via the H1N1 vaccine. Anyone
objecting to his paranoia is of course, "a socailiest (sic) kook". :)

I can understand why you would be envious of the small town rural
Canadian - they are rugged individualists, self-supporting, industrious,
hard working. They feed themselves while feeding you. On top of that
they pay taxes to various levels of government from which they will see
few direct benefits. The provincial government sucked huge amounts of
tax dollars out of my community for decades, and when the people of the
community asked for local services like a hospital staffed with a couple
of doctors the government laughed at us. They said a hospital was far
too expensive and wanted us to drive 1.5 hours to the city to get our
services. Guess who won? We now have an absolutely awesome new
hospital with all the bells and whistles. How? We stopped letting
government funnel our tax dollars out of the community into urban Canada
(or at least staunched the bleeding a bit).

Hunting wild game for food is senseless killing? I suppose this will
trigger the usual rant that people don't need to eat meat and that
hunting is cruel. Well, you and your Disney World Generation are still

So Natives and other tribal/indigenous people hunt because they're
over-compensating for not being "real men". Go up to the next Native

There you go with your shallow anthropocentric view of the universe.
Higher life forms more worthy, lower life forms less worthy. The
reverse is actually true, the most important forms of life are right at
the bottom of the food chain. Without them you wouldn't exist.

Your ignorance is showing. The natives I'm familiar with don't hunt to
survive and have not for a long time. They hunt because it's
traditional and cultural, and they prefer natural 'country food' over
meat and produce filled with pesticides, herbicides, bacterial toxins,
fat, cholesterol, and a whole list of others things that make people
sick and unhealthy. Again, this is one of those cases where COBG just
can't stand to see other people live lifestyles outside his own very
narrow frame of existence.

You're so much like Archie, you dish out heaps of invective but never
really say anything of substance. Eating moose is not environmentally
destructive at all, in fact hunters tend to be strong conservationists
who work hard to protect wildlife habitat. The raving lunatic Disney
World ARA Generation, of which you are obviously a product of, are so
disconnected with the natural world and reality some of them actually
believe animals are just people in furry coats. Anthropomorphism is fun
for children but it gets a bit silly when they don't grow out of it.

It's something that needs a host to derive sustenance from in order to
survive, kind of like how socialists need a host to live on.

The difference between a tapeworm and a socialist is the tapeworm is
smart enough not to kill the host outright.

I agree, gardening is good. One problem, try as I might, I can't seem
to get my vegetables to taste like beef or pork or chicken or fish and
I just have to consume them to satisfy my blood lust.
I have eaten my share of "wild" meat and it contributes to a healthy
life style as well.

Not at all. Where I like to hunt the moose population is thriving.
It's thriving because the habit was created with a controlled burn about
two decades ago. Moose didn't live there until the that burn cleared
the way for moose browse and they migrated in. The net result is a
healthy population of moose exists where none existed before (not to
mention wolves, bears, and other predators). Predation is good, it
keeps the moose population healthy, it keeps them from exhausting their
food resources and starving to death.

But anecdotes from your childhood don't qualify as blanket
generalizations of hunters. Just like those girls at school who used to
tease you about your short stature, that doesn't qualify you to make
blanket generalizations that women hate short men.

My kids have been through the hunting experience. They love it. They
see where the animals live in their natural habitat. They learn what
they eat and how they survive. They understand the principles of
conservation and appreciate why wildlife habitat must be preserved from
development and agriculture. And the most valuable lesson of all, they
learn about food security. When people become disconnected from their
food supply they become very vulnerable and dependent, and it doesn't
matter whether that food is plant or animal.

Do you ever get tired of sitting in your protected little urban
environment and telling people how they should live and what they should do?

Why are you evading the question? When you say senseless, are you
telling me your personal definition of the word applies to me? Why must
I live my life by your dictionary?

So fill your belly with those certain meats that aren't wrong. Or fill

Real men provide healthy natural food for their families to eat instead
of poising their children with toxic commercial food. Real men know how
to be self-sufficient and self-reliant.

These are values you'll never understand or know anything about.

Good for you (wild applause... clap clap clap). Does that mean the
universe must be like you? If you want to restrict your diet based on
your personal beliefs, all the power to you. If you want to restrict my
diet based on your personal beliefs, that's a completely different
matter. We all value different things and different lifestyles, and if
you don't refrain from dictating to others then they might not be so
inclined to return the favour.

> And red meat isn't healthy.

I you had eaten moose as a kid you probably would have been taller.
Moose is very healthy, high in omega 3, something proven to prevent
heart disease and keep the nervous system working nice. Diets high in
omega 3 increase intelligence:

>> These are values you'll never understand or know anything about.
>

> I know you are an ignorant, bigot with no respect for life who thinks

I think it's dietary. If you had more omega 3 your brain would probably
work much better. From the link above:

"some scientists even postulate that it was the ingestion of omega-3
EFAs that allowed the brain to evolve to the next stage in human
development"

Eating moose high in omega 3 is not only healthy, it's quite possibly
why the human brain is more advanced than the vegetable munchers.

I'm actually kind of sorry for you, disadvantaging yourself and your
family like that.
