Most of them are old and stupid like you, living off the
government teat in one way or another.
Tea Party Socialism And The Not So Fiscally Conservatives
Tea Partiers and Republicans hurl the word, Socialist at
President Obama yet some of them embrace it, and every one of
them would be judged harshly by their own party if a D appeared
next to their name. Some of them are simply crooks. Some of
them deem themselves to be fiscally Conservative.
While funneling fear into society of all things socialist and
the redistribution of wealth, many of them distribute among the
rich, money that was meant for the poor.
Joe Miller got $7,000 in farm aid for land he didnt farm but
now opposes all federal farm aid. He may just take the Senate
seat in Alaska. Many of them such as Marco Rubio supports
sales tax on the poor.
Christine ODonnell embezzled campaign funds to pay for her
rent, failed to pay taxes and her college bills remained
unpaid, dormant for over 20 years. She reports only $5,000 in
income, yet lives quite well.
Carly Fiorina laid off 34,000 people while stock tanked and got
$42,0000,000 exit bonus for her job. Thats $1200 for each
fired employee.
John Boehner, aka: Orange Man, spent $150,000 on steakhouses
and $250,000 on golf. Hows that for fiscally conservative? I
dont need to listen to economics, says Boehner.
Rand Paul set up a sham Medical Board, collecting dues for
extra income. He is the libertarian prince. Paul believes
Medicare is Unconstitutional yet doesnt mind disregarding
his own interpretation of the Constitution.
Think Progress:
Pauls libertarianism stops where his pocketbook starts. Frum
highlighted a Wall Street Journal story from last week in which
Paul said he doesnt want to cut Medicare payments to doctors
like himself, because [p]hysicians should be allowed to make a
comfortable living:
But on Thursday evening, the ophthalmologist from Bowling
Green said there was one thing he would not cut: Medicare
physician payments.
In fact, Paul who says 50% of his patients are on
Medicare wants to end cuts to physician payments under a
program now in place called the sustained growth rate, or
SGR. Physicians should be allowed to make a comfortable
living.
In addition to his comfortable living through Medicare
patients, he opposes farm aid. Pauls father-in-law received
$10,000 from farm subsidy program, which is the very same one
he opposes.
Michele Bachmann got $250,000 in federal farm subsidies yet
claims she despises socialism. Her familys farm received
$251,973 in federal subsidies in 11 years. The farm made
roughly $20,000 in 2006 and $28,000 in 2005, with the sheer
bulk of the subsidies going to dairy and corn which are heavily
subsidized, which is the epitome of, socialized.
The top four districts receiving the largest agriculture
payments are represented by Republicans which include,
Nebraska, Kansas, Texas and Iowa..
Truthdig:
Data compiled from federal records by Environmental Working
Group, a nonprofit watchdog that tracks the recipients of
agricultural subsidies in the United States, shows that
Bachmann has an inner Marxist that is perfectly at ease
with profiting from taxpayer largesse. According to the
organizations records, Bachmanns family farm received
$251,973 in federal subsidies between 1995 and 2006. The
farm had been managed by Bachmanns recently deceased
father-in-law and took in roughly $20,000 in 2006 and
$28,000 in 2005, with the bulk of the subsidies going to
dairy and corn. Both dairy and corn are heavily
subsidizedor socializedbusinesses in America (in 2005
alone, Washington spent $4.8 billion propping up corn
prices) and are subject to strict government price
controls. These subsidies are at the heart of Americas
bizarre planned agricultural economy and as far away from
Michele Bachmanns free-market dream world as Cubas free
medical system. If American farms such as hers were forced
to compete in the global free market, they would collapse.
However, Bachmann doesnt think other Americans should
benefit from such protection and assistance. She voted
against every foreclosure relief bill aimed at helping
average homeowners (despite the fact that her district had
the highest foreclosure rate in Minnesota), saying that
bailing out homeowners would be rewarding the
irresponsible while punishing those who have been playing
by the rules. Thats right, the subsidy queen wants the
rest of us to be responsible.
It gets worse. There is an obscenely rich class of absentee
farmers receiving such money from farm aid which was meant to
help struggling farmers. Some are in Congress, demanding free
market rules to collect their government welfare checks in the
mail at night. This money is earmarked for failing
businesses.
During the last decade, the federal government paid $178
billion to American farmers, the majority of recipients being
the wealthy, not the poor, yet Republican politicians want the
wealthy to get tax breaks and theyve taken money that was
meant for the poor. Again, It. was. meant. for. poor. farmers.
Truthdig:
Chuck Grassley, the longtime Republican senator from Iowa
who warns his constituents of Obamas trend toward
socialism, has seen his family collect $1 million in
federal handouts over an 11-year period, with Grassleys
son receiving $699,248 and the senator himself pocketing
$238,974. Even Grassleys grandson is learning to ride
through life on training wheels, snagging $5,964 in 2005
and $2,363 in 2006. In the Grassley family they learn early
how to enjoy other peoples money.
Joe Miller got $7,000 in farm aid for land he didnt farm, but
now he opposes farm aid. Ron Johnson got $2,500.000 government
bonds to help build business, but now says the government
should never help businesses.
