MARINE ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN


Our client is the Marine Electronics sub-contractor for Bermuda's primary
boatyards. They additionally supply related goods and services to a number
of Government departments in Bermuda. They sell and service ICOM Land
Mobile products, primarily utilized in the taxi market and Trimble Land
survey GPS equipment to the local survey market. Private local customers
range from Schooner Fleurtje, Sportsfishermen and B.O.C.A. boats through to
"round the Island" Seagull racers. Visiting yachts add to their extremely
busy schedule from April through July and again from late October through
mid December.

This progressive provider of Marine services represents most of the bigger
names in Marine Electronics including: ACR, Brooks and Gatehouse, C-Map,
Datamarine, Echopilot, Furuno, I.C.S., ICOM, Marinetics, Navionics,
Northstar, Penninsular Electronics, Raytheon/Autohelm, Sailor,
Simrad/Robertson/Navico, Sitex, Trimble and Wesmar. They have direct
relationships with the manufacturers.

The successful applicant will have at least five years experience in marine
electronics, with a proven record of success in service and installation,
including fault finding to board or component level as appropriate.
Detailed knowledge of interfacing equipment both to other marine
electronics, and to PC based equipment is also required. An office,
workshop and van is provided by our client. The technician will be expected
to provide their own tools and will spend a good part of their time in the
field at boatyards or on the water aboard customer's boats. Salary
commensurate with experience and ability.

Suitable candidates will be highly portable and have outside interests that
lend themselves to Bermuda's idyllic living environment.
