Let’s start with what it doesn’t mean.

It doesn’t mean sending erroneous, inflammatory and divisive flyers
into Jewish neighbourhoods as a partisan wedge. Stephen Harper should
be ashamed to have his image on these Conservative brochures. It
tarnishes the office of the Prime Minister.

Nor does it mean hurling drive-by accusations of anti-Semitism, as one
senior Conservative spokesperson did Wednesday on national television.
It’s beyond the pale to falsely charge political opponents of anti-
Semitism as a tactic for vote-getting. The Liberal targeted by that
attack, former Mississauga-Erindale MP and current Liberal candidate
Omar Alghabra, has dedicated himself to fighting all forms of racism,
including anti-Semitism. His commitment to the cause of peace in the
Middle East is deep and ongoing.

Standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel certainly doesn’t mean
resorting to lies to smear your political opponents. Liberal MP Irwin
Cotler, who is himself Jewish, put it best when he stood up on a point
of privilege in the House of Commons to denounce the flyers being sent
to voters his riding.

What standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel does mean is changing
Canadian law to ensure Hezbollah and Hamas were designated as
terrorist organizations, as the Liberal government did in 2002.

What it does mean is condemning anti-Semitism vociferously as the
former Liberal government did at the Durban I conference, and staying
on at the conference to witness the atrocious statements made there at
the request of the Israeli government.

What it means is standing by Israel, as the Liberal Party has, since
1948.

Here's an idea -- why not go and tell the Prime Minister personally
yourself? Or your local Conservative MP.

I'm sure they would be most interested in adapting policy to suit your
pleasure..

Peffers, it also doesn't mean posting racist, bigoted,
erroneous, inflammatory and divisive crap to Usenet
newsgroups like you do.

Perhaps, YOU, and other naive brainless dupes, would prefer "standing by"
various motley groups of Arab terrorists.

Actually, I though Israel has far too much tollerance for the vermine.
I would tell them to pack up move to Jordan or be shot. And it would be
over before the UN could sober up for a muslim/arab whining session.

I notice that you did not mention Conservative MP Rob Anders from Calgary,
and how he was mocked by Liberal and NDP MPs for standing up in the House a
few years ago and defending Isreal in their battles.

I was curious to see what you looked like, so I went to the dictionary and
turned to hypocrit. It must have been an "Educated Redneck White Male

Peffers is a bigoted party hack who takes the attitude the
Conservatives can do no right and the Liberals can do no
wrong. He's as bad as the doctor that way.

Quite frankly, their Ignatieff has got enough problems
keeping the Liberal Party of Canada relevant in the 21st
century without their ilk helping to drag it down.

Would anyone be harmed if the Liberals dies off? Maybe merged with the
NDP or just go bankrupt and disband to avoid unpaid debt?

Can't say it would hurt any. Party at my place when they do.

It might hurt us if the NDP forms the government.

While Buzz Hargrove might be out of the picture vis-a-vis
union involvement in the federal NDP, I'm sure there are a
lot more like him where he came from.

Ottawa for corruption, does it mater if NDiaPers do it or Liberals? If
Canadians want a loser government and vote NDP or Liberal so what. It
will just accelerate the downfall of Ottawa and the people will have to
do something about it. Confederation sucks. Took me 50+ years to get
around to saying it, confederation sucks.

If the Liberals die off, perhaps a new party without the cronies will be
formed. Canada needs new fresh alternatives, and not whaco nuts like
green, but serious parties.

Speaking of going down the toilet, the federal government
spent almost $30 B more than it took in during the first six
months of the fiscal year.

Part of that is a drop in tax revenue courtesy of the
recession.

Part of that is bailouts for auto makers.

I'm not sure I really want to see the NDP form the
government. Given the Liberals and the NDP, I figure the
Liberals are the lesser of two evils.
