For most, a crown is something only worn dressing up on Halloween, but for BYU student Soben Huon, it is now a daily accessory after winning Miss Utah USA 2006 in early November.

“I figured it was a great opportunity to network if I were to win,” Huon said. “It has given me that opportunity so far.” In her senior year, the political science major from Long Beach, Calif. thought the pageant would be a good opportunity to meet all sorts of people. Even with school, Huon managed to prepare for the competition while still living the life of a student.

“The last two weeks it was intense,” Huon said. “Just getting the little things together and practicing interview questions. I spent about a month and a half preparing just trying to get everything together. ” Preparations paid off on Nov. 12th at the Ellen Eccles Theater in Logan, as Huon received the crown and 2006 title.

Along with the title, the crown holder’s job includes public appearances, speeches and representing Utah in larger events. “The title is really just a platform if you so choose to use it,” said Marin Poole, Miss Utah USA 2005, who is also a BYU student. “Soben has the opportunity to reach thousands across Utah, however she chooses to use it. The title provides a vehicle for change to happen, it is an opportunity for her to create change.”

Huon plans to take next semester off of school in order to fulfill her duties as Miss Utah USA, and she said she looks forward to representing Utah in the Miss USA pageant in April. “She is a great girl,” Weller said. “Not only is she beautiful, but she is intelligent and comes from a great family. She worked very hard to prepare herself for the pageant.”

Dear All-

Thank you for sending Miss Utah USA email. Of course, we should all be proud
of that good news. She appears to be not only beautiful but also smart. Once
in a while we all need good news on Cambodians. This is indeed a good one
and uplifting.

Best regards.

When a Khmer remains free in the free country like America, the hidden
beauty of a Khmer girl can be reveal through a fair contest. In Cambodia ,
our people continue to live under OPPRESSION, VIET SLAVERY.

Therefore we need urgently a formation of the government in exile.
Why?

THE PRICE OF BEING a Vietnamese slave in his/her country.

HERE ARE THE CPP/HUN SEN REGIME’S CRIMES

-The CPP/Hun Sen regime allowed 270 000 illegal Vietnamese settlers to come
& rob all jobs reserved for unemployed ,poor, landless Cambodian citizens,at
300 garment factories(RFA report December 2005),at Phnom Penh/Kandal. These
illegal Vietnamese settlers are disguised as “Cambodians” with fake
“Cambodian” names & ID issued by the service of immigration under HOK LUNDY
POLICE ,who happen to be Vietnamese also.

-While the same CPP/Hun Sen regime & Cham Prasidh, the Mnister of Commerce
,Hor Nam Hong, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, allowed the mafia,to export
the same amount 200 000 of unemployed, landless, oppressed Cambodian
citizens, men, women, girl, children, as cheap labor, slave, beggars, forced
prostitutes to Thai brothels to Thailand and abroad .

21 days that  have passed that King Sihamoni is trapped with the evil
Vietnamese leaders after he has signed the additional 1985 border treaty on
November 30,2005.

The young King must make a choice:

a. JOIN the James group WHO ARE the 13 million Cambodian people( 12 million
said Ong Yin Tieng at the CTN interview December 2005).

b. Remain trapped with this CPP/Hun Sen group who is made of the Vietnamese
forces of invasion & occupation of Cambodia since 1978.

c. Abandon his father’s EVIL PATH & advices, as legacy of the NORODOM’s
model of destruction of the country.

It's time now to form a GOVERNMENT IN EXILE ,after the King Sihamoni has
killed the 1991 Paris Peace Accords on Cambodia, on November 30,2005 the
date that marks the Norodom family has just joined King Chey Chetha II.....

This is the Khmer History in the making.

Bury
Victim of the Vietnamese invasion & occupation of Cambodia (1978-2005)
