Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew anyone in the Cambridge area that did toy repair & cleaning? Failing that, does anyone have a recommendation for a good cleaners that won't trash a soft toy?

The reason I ask is that I'm soon to become a father (eek!) and I've got a soft toy I'd like to give to the baby. It's a hand made toy I was given by my father when I was a baby myself & i'd like to get it repaired and cleaned up so I can do the same. The repairs aren't anything major (just some restitching here & there) but I'd hate it if I took it to a generic cleaners and it got damaged.

Cheers for any thoughts/info people can come up with.

Lee,

There are a LOT of collecting clubs around for (for example Stieff) soft
toys, Lee.

Also, you may find antique dealers (esp the larger ones who hold themed toy
sales) may be able to recommend a restorer/cleaner.

If you google "dolls hospital" you'll find both doll specialists, and those who fix a wider range of things, e.g. bears. Probably not actually in Cambridge, but close enough. Have no direct experience, so that's it.
