We would like to have a new patio area in our back garden done, plus
perhaps replacing our driveway with a block paved one. Ive got a quote
from Wallace Landscape Gardening which seem to be very good value - I
wondered if anyone had used them and could recommend them (or any
other Cambridge builders) to do the job?

Thanks.

A strong disrecommendation from us on tarmac-ing (?) our driveway.
An initially shoddy job which then took over 6 months
of chasing to get them to come back and do it properly.

I posted my full tale of woe to cam.misc on 13 August 2003,
which you can find with the google groups advanced search
for 'wallace landscape gardening'

Hope you find someone good,
Jo

As gardeners and patioers they are pretty good. They were quick and
tidy doing a complete dig-up (and removal) of the whole garden,
levelling, turfing, 2 patios and a path. I think for driveway work,
I'd probably get driveway people in, but for landscape _gardening_ I
think they were OK). I've a block that's lifted and they said it was
covered by a lifetime guarantee. I need to get in touch with them
about that. The other thing is, if you get extra work done, get a
quote first. We added a few bits on as they were doing it and got a
bit of a shock at the end.

Many Thanks indeed for both of your replies. Did they come back and
fix the block that lifted? And the lawn looks ok?

Jo - did they EVER come back and sort out your tarmac?
