Jim, we are a new 501c3 non-profit (Museum and Heritage and educational organization) about 2 years old
now. I founded the museum upon returning from my second tour in Iraq, to tell the Veterans stories from the
service members mouth or point of view. A way to help our troops find a way to heal. We have a research
library and part of this library is a collection of 16 mm films that were donated for safe keeping. This
particular film is nothing but Mare Island history and actual footage of Cornation of ships, subs and part
of the 100th year aniversary with the dignitaries that attended at that time, i.e. mid fifties. Hope that

Good morning, I have a 60 minute 16mm film on the 100th anniversary of Mare Island. It has no sound but the
footage goes back to WW1 and WW2 through the 1950's. The film condition is ok, but sensitive, it needs to
be converted to digital. If you think you might be interested let me know so we can work out a deal.

I am researching film and film exhibition practices in the San
Francisco Bay Area in the 1920's and 1930's. And, I have found out
that the Post Exchange at both Fort McDowell (on Angel Island) and
Mare Island had a movie theater in the 1920's.

I am wondering if anyone might have information on which films were
shown at the Post Exchange movie theaters? Perhaps the base kept
records? Or perhaps the films were listed or advertised in the camp
newsletter?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Did either of these
bases have a newsletter? And if so, were might they be archived?

Not a problem let me know if you change your mind, other than still pictures you may only find info in 16mm
