  For the former issue, I need to get around to reinstalling some svn &lt;br&gt; software on that server - though I&#39;m thinking about rehosting the &lt;br&gt; sources anyway somewhere else... GitHub? &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;On the latter issue, the update directory had somehow got its file &lt;br&gt; permissions set to &amp;quot;no access&amp;quot; for everyone other than root. Not sure

  Hi Raoul, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I&#39;m just starting to use CAL in a class project on parallel &lt;br&gt; computation - I&#39;m using it as the foundation for a little DSL that can &lt;br&gt; automatically be optimized for parallel evaluation (hopefully :) &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I used to program in CAL a fair bit back when it was used internally &lt;br&gt; at Business Objects.

  Hi Raoul, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I don&#39;t think that&#39;s too hard -- I have written my own STM for CAL, &lt;br&gt; and while I suspect that mine was not nearly as performant as &lt;br&gt; Clojure&#39;s, it seemed to be correct -- I implemented the Santa problem &lt;br&gt; from Beautiful Code and a bunch of other small programs. I hadn&#39;t come &lt;br&gt; across Clojure at the time, so I didn&#39;t try that &#39;ants&#39; example. I

  I&#39;m sometimes confused by CAL&#39;s space behaviour, but I think that&#39;s &lt;br&gt; just me :-) I can control it by adding strictness annotations, and I &lt;br&gt; don&#39;t recall any unexpected behaviour. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;The global optimizer performs various transformations -- on the &lt;br&gt; assumption that these aren&#39;t applied in the REPL you might see
