Well I was later than expected by the time I finished up with work today, but I thought I would drive up and check out short divide any way.  I got there just as Dwane and Matt were loading up at the lz, Matt let me bum a ride back up to launch I unpacked and launched.  Got some good lift and flew over the ridge.  It was a little bumpy but not too bad, thanks Matt for the lift to the top see you all next time

U-betcha Sam. Glad you had a nice "sunset-sledder"
I got to Short Divide launch by 2 pm, and was all set up, ready
to launch as Dwane arrived. The winds had mellowed to about 14 mph,
then I suddenly realized that I had forgotten my helmet!! There was
not really time or daylight to go home and get one, and I couldn't
raise anyone on the phone. Seeing my predicament, Dwane offered, and
then insisted that I use HIS helmet to fly while he was still setting
up! So I flew around - skimming over the junipers by launch for about
25 min, then went out to land so Dwane could fly too. He and his wife
met me in the LZ with my pick-up, got his helmet, then he went up to
launch for a short flight of his own.
Thanks for helping out a brother, Dwane - I was overdue for some
airtime! We both got to fly, but you sacrificed and gave me the
better end of the deal! I owe ya, man.
