We (my wife and I) have joined the "club"... We recently purchased
the '87 CR38 that was in Hilton Head. Your group was kind enough to
field a few questions as we started down this path, I'm sure the
number of questions will take a sharp uptick once we get passed the

Chain Locker

Hi. On our CR 42, we have a plow anchor with 275 ft of chain on the
starboard side and a Bruce with 50 ft of chain and 270 ft of rode on
the port side. Our Muir Cheeta windlass has one gypsy on the
starboard side.

I,need assistence,has anyone ever resealed the Glass in there ROUND
Perko Portlights.I,can not seem to find out how they come apart,I,got
the old caulk out the Glass is lose but I,can't seem to find the
starting point for what I,beleive is a snap ring on the inside can't

With Opus now a fresh water boat the y valve had to be removed and she
can not be pumped overboard.Dose anybody know how big the tank is and
how do you know when it is full.
All the other boats I have owned have had plastic tanks and it was

I have really enjoyed reading the posts and learning from all of you.
We have recently purchased CR42 Hull 14. We live and have her docked
in the Outer Banks of NC.
