Mickey,
I just got back to the boat and looked through the literature that I have for the heater and it lists multiple models, (I'm thinking it's the D4 model) but I'm not entirely sure. I'll empty the lazerette locker on Thursday and get down to where the unit is and see if it has any markings on it. Sorry for the delay.

No worries about the model markings.  Can you tell me where it's mounted?  I'm thinking of adding one and mounting somewhere in the engine compartment, ducting into quarter cabin then forward.

Mickey,
Mine is mounted in the lazerette locker on the lower portion of the cockpit coaming. The fresh air intake hose is run close up to the clamshell vent. You may be able to download the manual for the model you're thinking of installing. I think there are some considerations with exhaust venting, ducting and air intake as well as the fuel feed line that you may want to look into. With all of that being said, the overall performance of the unit I have has been excellent.

Just found out Cabo Rico filed for bankruptcy on Oct 26 2009. How did I miss that? Very sad. Sharon

Fortunately they filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy which allows them to
restructure their debt.

This means that they do not intend to close their doors for the time
being at least.

Mickey,
Mine is actually located just beneath the aft portion of the cockpit coaming on the rear bulkhead of the aft cabin on the starboard side. If I'm  in the rear locker by the rudder post looking forward the unit is on the starboard side. I haven't been back to the boat so I haven't had the opportunity to take any pictures.

Nick,

Is it mounted athwartships or fore-and-aft ?  The only place I could find room on mine on the starboard side is either at the aftmost end of the starboard hull, or against the aftmost bulkhead of the quartercabin.  The former would require I bond a mounting bulkhead to the hull, and the latter that I mount the heater athwartships.

No stress about pictures.  It'd be nice to see your installation when you do get around to it, but I'm proceeding with mine on the port side for now.

Best

Mickey,
It would be the latter of your two descriptions.
