Hello All,
While trying to unwrap a tangled main halyard today, my helper un-cleated
the bitter end (in an good hearted effort) to give me more slack topsides. The
only problem is while we were both looking up he was not tending the end and I
pulled it through the fairlead and up into the mast.
To shorten the story the Main Halyard is completely out now.
My first question. Is the mast head a single or double sheave arrangement
for the halyards? I cannot remember. Having to feed a painter/feeder
line in over two and then down inside the mast will be harder.
The other issue is that we will have to drop the head sail since that is
the only trust worthy halyard that goes to the masthead. Just will be on the
wrong side.
Any neat tricks you know would be appreciated.
Thanks you all in advance.
