With Opus now a fresh water boat the y valve had to be removed and she
can not be pumped overboard.Dose anybody know how big the tank is and
how do you know when it is full.

All the other boats I have owned have had plastic tanks and it was
easy to tell when getting close to full now I have no idea and the
last thing I want is to over fill that tank.

about 40 gallons.  I know it's full when it starts coming out the vent pipe (you can hear it :).   I've been meaning to install a tank sensor and monitor.  I believe you can use an external sensor :

I’ve tried the Sensa Tank II level sensor on my holding tank. I could not get the sensors to read as the only place I could install them was where the mast support is inside the tank (which won’t work).

It usually works out for us that when my aft 50 gallon water tank is empty; the holding tank is about full and ready for a pump out.

Best is to suck it out every two weeks, more if you are on the boat more than weekends. I dump overtime I am on the ocean, once or twice a month. The gages don't work that well in a holding tank.
