The multitude of bicycle lanes has surely been a rousing success
eh..hehehe!
How about that old law that says big lit up signs are not allowed
downtown.. wow very impressive. had a heck of a time finding the
hilton the other night after dark. the old hilton with the well lit
signage was easy to find. The other one where the room was..Christ..so
disgusting...we drove by it a few times and did not even see it.
And how many jobs have been created by the $100,000,000+ spent on the
Columbia River Crossing bridge? And mind you, not a single spade of
dirt has been turned yet in the actual construction.
Wtare bill/sewer bill monies have been spent by government fathers on
non-water/non-sewer items. (yes sure i am gonna trust you with more
money).
Why yes i will give you more money...the arts tax was just
implemented..further happy days are ahead for, keep it weird,
Portland. Of course some fool out there is gonna find stats that
proves that the arts are good for economy!!
Why don't I move...trust me, I sure as heck would if i had the $$$ and

Light rail is a minor part of the cost of the CRC - but would be a
significant help for traffic and development.

The government forces me to invest in social security. If I was able
to invest that money on my own I'd have $1.7M that I could use in my
retirement and pass on to my children. Is it hypocritical for me to
take my $760K in benefits (assuming I live to 90 and social security
somehow remains funded)?
Texans paid for it it would be stupid if they didn't make the best of
a bad situation and use the money.

To some, the price tag is particularly galling given the increasingly fierce
competition for dwindling federal highway dollars, which are paying for

was supposed to be a symbol of civic progress instead has turned into
an object lesson in the way government makes itself look bad.
"The feeling in the community is this is an outrageous use of federal money
and so we should turn it down," Murphy said. All that would do, he said,
is send the dollars elsewhere and deprive the city -- population 33,225 --
and its small, four-route bus system of some attractive shelters.
His inclination is to soldier on.
