November Meeting - Campus Watch!

CQ CQ CQ - Alright hams, it's time for the November meeting! We'll be
meeting in room 3718 HBLL at 7:00 PM this Thursday (11/12).

We'll be doing a sign up sheet for Red Week Campus Watch - even those
without radios can be partnered with a ham if they want to come help!
Also, it would be awesome to get a few more volunteers to help with

<Thanks for your willingness to teach at this year's PowWow. I know you have done this several times in the past, so I will spare you the long e-mail explaining the entire program. Just as a reminder the dates of the PowWow are Oct. 31st and Nov. 14th. The classroom you will be teaching in is 3380 of the WSC. The class schedule is as follows:

CQ CQ CQ Homecoming Parade will be in just a couple of weeks, on the 24th of October. We need your help to provide the communications needed. Our next club meeting will be on the 15th at 7:00 PM in 3716 HBLL - that's this coming Thursday - and we will be finalizing plans for parade communications. I agree with Jacob's analysis. Having done some webmastering myself for a
research group for a couple of years, I think his description of the types
of problems we face are spot on.

I also think that our club should have a web site. It makes it much easier
to get people involved if you can just say "go to byuarc.org" (or whatever)

I've identified three problems that continue to occur with maintaining
a club web site:

1) It is hard to maintain a web server. We've had problems with web
servers disappearing, maintaining internet connections to the server,
and keeping the server OS up to date.

changes to 2m repeater - complete

The high-pass filter has been installed on the receiver of the 2m
repeater. I believe that it is working correctly. I don't expect you to
notice any changes in the repeater audio or in sending DTMF codes to the

fix the problem with DTMF decoding on the internet link. I couldn't raise
