Students in introductory physics courses at BYU often ask to hire a personal tutor. This site helps tutors and students meet.

The BYU Physics Department does not officially endorse this page, or vouch for the qualifications of those who post here.  This is simply a communications service for tutors and students.

Clients, see the Discussions to find a tutor. You can browse them (click "view all"), or use the Search feature.  Use the information to contact a tutor directly. Note that emails are partially masked to avoid spam.  You can click on the partial address to unlock it, or if you click on "Reply to Author" it will send your message by email to the tutor. (Don't post a public reply).  If you can't find an available tutor, you may join to post a "Wanted: tutor for ..." listing for a particular class or tutoring time; delete the post when you have what you need.

Tutors, please join and add a Discussion topic thread with at least the following info:

    1. Courses you will tutor for (please put this in the title of your topic as well)
    2. Your qualifications.  No specific major is required.

(as a minimum we expect you to have received an A or A- in an equivalent or more advanced course on the same topic)
    3. What you would charge.  Some tutors specify individual and rates for small groups.
    4. Name
    5. Email (see note under Clients on partially hidden emails)
    6. Phone number(s)
    7. Best days and times for tutoring.

For more visibility, feel free to bump your listing to the top by deleting your old discussion thread, and reposting your information.

I suggest that you choose "no email" in "edit my membership" so you don't get any accidental mass mailings from others on this list.  You will still get emails sent to you individually.

Dr. Bret Hess
