Apparently the domain name has been locked for Thematic-trails as someone
tried to move it away from the rightful ownership.

The website is all there, including the index.htm, so all my concerns were
in vain.

I thought I would tell what the outcome of this was.  Thanks for the help
received, but no-one could have known of this.

Kind regards,
Jill

Tina asked: wow .. tell us more;)

I was trying so hard to get the site back, it seemed so odd that I couldn't
access and I had had no experience of anything like this happening before.
I could 'see' the files there via Cute FTP and EW - but I couldn't pull up
the site.  I opened a ticket at Blue Host, and had a response by this
morning's email dl.  I had asked if they would check that my htaccess file
was ok, and I had two errors, where I had used thematic-trails whereas the
folder is thematic. Changed that and it passed ok.  I was also told:
'The folder should be thematic which is what is on the server. That would
make that at least pull up the correct folder and if the files are all in
there you should be set'

Well they were all there, as I had deleted the files and uploaded and the
uploaded again by overwriting and done everything I thought possible, but I
still could not upload the site.
I went to bed about 2am pretty peeved and exhausted.

This morning I tried again, and now the site was bringing up my custom
[thank goodness it was a custom made] 404. I was then able to click on Home
and could see that I could access the website and if you wish follow this
link http://www.thematic-trails.org/thematic/index.htm

I also used their BH's Support Chat and that is when I learnt that some one
had tried to hack or nick the domain name.

Apparently Tucows say that someone paid a cheque in May for the domain and
has been trying to get hold of this recently and so rightly Tucows locked
it. I don't know, and haven't yet asked if the rightful owner of the website
received an email from Tucows, as when I write this, I realise that someone
trying to pinch the domain name,  surely would have generated a warning
email to the registered owner.  I knew not a thing about this until today,
and that's quite a good time from early May.

BTW be warned anyone outside the States that Tucows do not seem to be awake
before 12 noon English time.  I know America wakes up about our mid-day, but
it did mean two telephone calls to America this morning which proved
completely fruitless as we waited online for one of their 'highly qualified
support team' to respond to us, after pressing 1 and then 2.

Kind regards,
Jill
