Hi Everyone.
Thank you to those of you who have sponsored me in this years Washington
Trails Association Hike-a-thon. WTA and I really appreciate the support.
The funds will go towards such things as: new tools, paying for whatever
needs to be paid so that volunteers can safely work on trails, pay for
wilderness safety courses for crew leaders, and much, much more!
Also, if you donate $40 or more, you can opt to become a member of
Washington Trails Association which will get you copies of their awesome
magazine and newsletter along with the knowledge that you are supporting the
trails on which you love to hike.
So, if you haven't donated yet and would like to do so, please follow the
link below. If you are interested in doing trail work and don't really know
what that might entail, please shoot me an email--I'm happy to discuss it.
:)
It's that time of year again when I commit to hiking as many miles as
possible during the month of August in hopes that people will sponsor me!
I'm hoping to raise $1000 by the end of August. As for the number of miles
that I'm going to hike, well..I'm not sure. My leg is still healing from the
January dodgeball incident but I am able to hike fairly well so I'm hopeful
that I'll get in a lot of miles.
Washington Trails Association takes great care of as many trails in
Washington as possible. If you are on facebook, you can see a few photos of
me using a crosscut saw on one of our day long work parties. That was fun!
And, my hands and arms hurt for a few days afterwards. :) If I'm available,
I'm hoping to do a few more crosscut saw work parties and eventually become
certified in using that tool. In the meantime, I'll stick with the goal
that I've had for the last few years of doing at least one work party per
month every year.
If you'd like to sponsor me, please click the link below. If you have any
trouble with it, please let me know.
