A distraction from the Coronavirus -

व्यञ्जनोच्चारणे भूय: स्पर्श: स्यादिति चिन्तया ।
भाषितव्यं स्वरैरेव कोरोनास्पर्शभीरुभि: ।।

With the concern that the pronunciation of consonants often involves contact of organs in the vocal track, those who fear the touch of Corona should speak only with vowels.

When the gods arrive for Damayanti's ceremony of choosing the groom, scared of the Coronavirus they stand above the ground without touching it.

तत्रापि विनिवार्यं स्यात् विवृतत्त्वमचां सदा।
संवृताकारमात्रेण तोष्टव्यं हितमिच्छता  ॥


अचां विवृतप्रयत्नः प्रसिद्धः। आस्यं यदि विवृतं स्यात् कृमिकीटादीनां प्रवेशभयम्। कोरोना-प्रवेशभीः।
ह्रस्वस्य अवर्णस्य प्रयोगे संवृतम्। तस्मात् संवृतः ह्रस्वः अकारः एव अवशिष्यते कोरोनाभीरुभिः प्रयोक्तुम्।

किञ्च "संवृताकारमात्रेण" इत्यस्य अपरः अपि आशयः अस्ति -
संवृतः आकारः यस्य सः - संवृताकारः, तेनैव संवृताकारमात्रेण मनुष्येण
मास्क्-इत्यादिभिः मुखादिकं संवृत्य, गृहस्य भित्तिः  (home quarantine) स्वात्मानं संवृत्य वा तत्रैव तोष्टव्यम् यदि हितमिच्छेत्, रोगतः स्वात्मानं रक्षितुमिच्छेत्।

might not have grasped the meaning fully.

Having slept over, I amend my verse slightly:

Does khalvATa in Sanskrit refer to a bald-headed person,
or to a bald head (or both)?
The few usages I know refer to the person.

(kaupInavantaH khalu bhAgyavantaH
is known).
But khalvATavantaH...?

In Kalhaṇas Rājataraṅgiṇī 7.1560 (ed. Stein) khalvāṭa refers to śīrṣa:

khalvāṭaśīrṣaparyantalambinīḥ kuntalacchaṭāḥ
prāpayañ śravaṇopāntaṃ kareṇa galitāsinā
