Pranaam Learned Scholars and Shankar Ji

I found about this shloka detail from Shri PR Ramamurthy ji. I got info from his blog and then had a conversation with him on fone and he told that he has an old copy of pancharatnaGeeta of Geetapress, in which it was written. But now new editions is not having this shloka thatswhy asked you all the transslation of this shloka. I am pasting below  the extract of the mail of Ramamurthy ji regarding this shloka:

"Dear sri sharma,

 

This sloka is in Anusriti which is in Anushasanika parva, danadharma in Mahabharata

as indicated below:

"इति श्रीमहाभारते आनुशासनिके पर्वणि दानधर्मे

श्रीवैष्णोर्दिव्यमनुस्मृतिस्तोत्रं संपूर्णम् ॥"

 

This stotra is in a book called Pancharatna Gita published by Gita Press Gorakhpur. "

It is more likely that this sloka is part of 'Anusmriti'. In the beginning of this discussion, Ashish Sharma clearly mentions that this sloka is from Anusmriti. I wonder how 'pandava geeta' entered in the name of this thread.

Anusmriti available online at the following blog contains the sloka beginning with 'samigarbhascha'.

Gita Press edition of Mahabharata has Anusmriti in chapter 209 in Santi Parva - Page 4958. It can be read online at

But, I could not find this particular sloka (beginning with Samigarbhascha) in that chapter, though there are a few slokas ending with 'sa me vishnu prasidatu' in Narada's stuti which follows anusmriti. Giving below one such verse which needs scholarly interpretation.

 
चतुर्भिश्च चतुर्भिश्च द्वाभ्यां पञ्चभिरेव च।
हूयते च पुनर्द्वाभ्यां स मे विष्णुः प्रसिदतु॥

Mahabharata based on south Indian texts, contains Anusmriti in chapter 210, Santi Parva, page 335. The sloka beginning with 'samigarbhascha...' is not found there. Chitrasala edition of Mahabharata also has a chapter on anusmriti (chapter 209), but this sloka is absent there too.

Unless one has access to the original Manuscript on which the shloka was included in the old edition and the reason for deletion in the new edition nothing much can be said. Everything else is explained by scholars who participated in the discussion on this thread.
