I use BusySync on my Cube running OS 10.4.11 to sync Apple's Calendar with my google calendar which is synced to the calendar on my iPhone. Usually everything works fine as I enter events on my Cube which are sent to my google calendar and then to my iPhone. However, if I create a repeating event on my Cube and then delete one of the occurrences, my iPhone will contain two occurrences of the event on each of the days for which it is scheduled, and one occurrence on the day for which it was deleted. I note that my google calendar does not show any such duplication. How can I avoid these errors?

In an attempt to recreate the problem I described, in iCal on my Cube I created a new weekly repeating event that starts on March 9 and ends on March 30. A few minutes later I saw the four occurrences on my google calendar, and a few minutes later I saw the four occurrences on my iPhone. I then deleted the March 16 occurrence in iCal on my Cube. In a few minutes that occurrence was deleted from both my google calendar and my iPhone, and no duplicate occurrences were created. So it seems that the creation of duplicate occurrences of a repeating event might be coming from a more complicated situation than I described.

I've now been able to recreate the problem of duplicated occurrences of a repeating event. Here is the complete sequence:
DO: Create weekly repeating event in iCal on Cube for March 9, 16, 23, and 30.
RESULT: google calendar and iPhone agree with iCal.
DO: Delete March 16 occurrence in iCal on Cube.
RESULT: google calendar and iPhone agree with iCal.
DO: Move March 23 occurrence to March 22 in iCal on Cube.
RESULT: google calendar agrees with iCal on Cube. iPhone now has one occurrence on March 9, two occurrences on March 22, and two occurrences on March 30.
At the end of the sequence above the March 9 occurrence on the iPhone should not exist, and only one occurrence should exist on March 22 and 30. This is exactly the sort of trouble I've been having.
It seems the problem is introduced when I move an occurrence of a repeating event from one day to another (I think I've also seen the problem when I change the time within the day, but I ought to test that.). I would guess that this indicates some sort of bug in the interface between google calendar and the iPhone. For now I will not move any occurrences of a repeating event. Instead I will delete the occurrence that I would like to change and create a new event at the new time or date.
Does anyone have any further insight into this issue?

Deleting the March 9 occurrence on the iPhone and specifying all future events removes the redundant occurrences on March 22 and 23. After allowing some time for syncing, iCal, google calendar and iPhone all have one occurrence on both March 22 and 30.
There are various reports on the Google forums of iPhone repeating events issues, it seems like they are most prevalent when you use the Exchange (GoogleSync) option for connecting to Google via your iPhone and is dependent of the version of iOS you are running. Sounds like you found a repeatable case, you might want to post that to the Google forum of note.
