Hey all,

Thanks to those who came out to the last meeting and helped us kick off housewarming week.  We were also excited to see a new face or two.

A couple of things to discuss:

1) There is no meeting place or date yet for the month of October, so if you'd like to host (especially if you have not done so already), be my guest to let you let us be your guests...

2) Our meetings are typically held on a Wednesday or Thursday toward the end of the month, but as there are many individuals who still have not been able to make it, *please* let us know if there is a better time that works for you.  There's no reason why we can't change things up (even significantly.)

3) Dave and Mandy have offered to host the December meeting.  There was some discussion about a "holiday beer" theme, and generally we'd like to set themes about two months in advance, to allow sufficient time to make.

Feel free to share any other issues/ideas/etc

Mark

Hi all,

Paul from American Flatbread has extended an invitation to host a meeting there during off-hours (thanks to Brian for getting us in touch!)  I think this is a pretty amazing opportunity and would love to hear from people about what dates would or wouldn't work for them, so please chime in.

The options that we're looking at for meeting time are either a weekday starting around 3:30pm, or Sunday at a similar time.  Specific dates might be Sunday, October 24, or perhaps the following Wednesday.

Also, I forwarded a message earlier from Andy of the Mashers about a group brew this weekend - let me know if you're interested so that we can perhaps carpool.

Either Sunday or Wednesday would be awesome for me.  So, with the das Bierhaus issues in mind, will we be able to bring homebrew along since we'll be visiting off-hours?

I think I'll be stopping by the Masher's club brew Saturday but I'll be leaving from Middlebury.  So if you're gonna be in Addison county, gimme a holler...

I could do Sunday, no weekdays at 3:30 though.

Sunday the 24th or Wednesday the 27th both sound fine to me.

Looking forward to meeting everyone.

I'm currently in the process of trying to convert a couple 15.5g kegs for a RIMS system.  They're currently with a metal worker who will be plasma cutting the tops off the kegs.

I'm looking for some specs on specifically where the holes should be drilled for the one to be used for the mash tun.  I know one is needed at the top and one at the bottom, but was trying to get some specifics on how high and how low they should be drilled, respectively, before just taking a guess at it.

Not sure if anyone is aware of any specific plans that would give this information.

Thanks.

Kevlar Kid, reporting in. Sunday, the 24th would be ideal for me. This IS a great opportunity. Let's make it happen, ASAP. When American Flatbread of Burlington, Vermont says "Come show off and enjoy your beer with us," you say "Yes!"

Hey all,

Glad to hear that Sunday the 24th in the afternoon works well for most of you.  We're still awaiting a final confirmation from American Flatbread for this date.  If for some reason the Flatbread venue does not work out and gets pushed back until November, we have a backup for this Sunday at Meghan Butler's apartment.  The address:

305 South Union Street, Apartment #2

Note: For those of you who attended a meeting earlier this year at Meghan's apt, she now lives in a different apartment at the same house.

Thanks,
Mark
