Looking for Full-time PHP Developers

I am new to your PHP users group but glad to find it. My company,
Casey Research, a financial research publisher based in Stowe VT is
growing fast and looking for some great developers to help us build
the sites, infrastructure and ideas that will allow that to continue.
If you know of anyone, maybe even yourself, that is a great web-
oriented Software Engineer fits that bill, I'd appreciate your help
bringing this opportunity to their attention or letting me know about

As a globally distributed company, we can accomodate candidates both
locally (in the Burlington, VT area) or working from virtually
anywhere. Our development team is already distributed across North
America, so even working from home you'd fit right in. We are open to

SENIOR DEVELOPER

We are seeking an experienced website and systems developer to help us
build best-in-class data-driven web sites, ecommerce systems, and
other critical business infrastructure. Our company is a rapidly
growing direct-to-consumer financial services/publishing firm, and
this role provides a unique opportunity to help shape the future of
our business. In this position, you would be responsible for the
development and/or sourcing, implementation and maintenance of the
systems needed for our next stages of growth.

Candidates for this position must have at least 3-5 years of
experience as a web & systems developer, with proven success and
superior working knowledge of:

PHP/MySQL/Apache environment (although translating from a Ruby on
Rails, J2EE or .NET environment may be possible)
Basic Linux/LAMP administration
SOAP and RESTful web services development on LAMP
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web development technologies such
as Ajax & JQuery.
Object oriented programming techniques
Collaborative, team based development

Experience with the following is preferred, but not required, with the
understanding that developing these skills will be essential to long
term success of the candidate in this position:

Agile development process and test driven development techniques
including use of PHPUnit or similar
Source code control techniques including branching and merging
Drupal development – including custom modules and theming
Database management and data warehousing
Web/marketing analytics systems
Email marketing systems and MTAs

The candidate must have the ability to quickly get up to speed on the
technologies they are not familiar with, and be in a position to
recommend appropriate additions or changes to the infrastructure where
required. This position requires hands-on software development, so
you must be able and willing to both write code and maintain the code
of others.

We offer a small company environment and, as such, every employee must
be comfortable with multiple simultaneous responsibilities and driving
decisions in ambiguous situations. Superior verbal and written
communications skills, and the ability to interface with non-technical
executive management to successfully translate business objectives are
critical. This position may include limited people and vendor/
supplier management responsibilities, depending on the candidate’s
experiences and skills.

Position is available both for onsite work in Stowe, VT or for remote
employment for the right candidate.

Posting to a geographically limited group that you live on the opposite side of the world from: -5 points

Replying to the group rather than to the business looking for coders: -10 points

Asking a group of other contract programmers (i.e. your competition) for work: -15 points

And from those of us that do pass along work leads to others when we're too busy to take on anything else, we only do so to those folks who make a favorable impression by contributing to the group.  You have completely failed to do so.

The only reason I post this back to the group is the hope that it might discourage other such posts.  Just call me a hopeless optimist.
