Looks like PRGC will be around for a bit longer after all. However these terms make me think it won't be too much longer...

All - After several months of discussions, the Pacific Rod and Gun Club (the Club) and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) have reached a settlement agreement which resolves litigation filed by the City to evict the Club from its 78-year occupancy of SFPUC-owned property at Lake Merced. We are pleased to have collaboratively developed an agreement that modernizes and strengthens our business relationship and addresses several areas of concern for both parties:

  • The settlement includes an amended and restated month-to-month lease which allows the Club up to two years continued occupancy. Either party may terminate the lease for any reason upon 90 days written notice.

  • Upon termination of the lease, both parties have agreed to allow the SFPUC to take possession of the premises without a trial.

  • While the Club continues to occupy the property, the parties will continue to cooperate on issues of mutual interest, including pursuit of potential insurance coverage for remediation of contamination on the premises and the orderly removal of the Club’s property from the site.

  • During the term of this Lease, the SFPUC and San Francisco Recreation and Park Department will begin the planning process for long term use of the premises after cleanup is complete for yet-to-be-determined unrestricted recreational uses. We will continue to update you as this public process moves forward.

  • This Settlement Agreement is subject to review and approval by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. On Tuesday, November 6, Supervisor Sean Elsbernd introduced an ordinance authorizing the Settlement Agreement and associated documents to the Board for consideration and approval.

We are pleased to have reached this mutually agreeable milestone.  If you would like to review the proposed settlement documents, they are posted on the Lake Merced page of our website: http://sfwater.org/index.aspx?page=197.

Thanks,

Steve.
