Dear all,
I am an economist at Northwestern University. I am working on a project using Kiva data, with the hope that my research can help improving the practice of Kiva. I have a few questions about Kiva's ranking methods for loans. I tried to search for the answer at several places (including this forum) but with no luck. I really appreciate any insights or advice about where to find the answers. In particular,
When ranking loans at Kiva, I see the options are "Random", "Popularity", "Loan Amount", "Amount Left", "Repayment Term", "Expiring Soon" and "Most Recent".
1. How is the "Popularity" ranking determined at Kiva?
2. During April - June 2012, what rankings options did Kiva use? We collected the data during that period. But it seems now Kiva added different ranking approaches over time. For example, as a seasoned Kiva lender myself, I don't recall "expiring soon" was always an option for ranking loans.
Thank you very much!
Best,
Song
