Hello,

Does anyone know what is the difference between expired and inactive_expired status?
I understand expired, but what is inactive_expired?  Is it the same as expired?

Thanks,
Vijay.

I believe inactive_expired means that the loans was *never* activated, meaning it never became available to become funded on Kiva (there are several ways this could happen). Whereas expired means the loan went up on Kiva and expired without becoming funded.

Don't quote me on it though cause i'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that is the case.

Cheers,

Hi Kevin,

Thank you for the clarification.

I downloaded the loan info (from loan id 1 to 403238, if anyone needs the raw JSON, let me know).
These are the status of the loans (little over 2 days old, I downloaded on wed/thurs).

Are there only 438 expired loans in the system?  doesn't it seem to be a bit low? or am I looking at it
wrong? I'm writing a blog post for the LLL team, with a detailed look at expired loans, wanted to make
sure I get my facts right.  Thanks.

defaulted, 6965
deleted, 2217
expired, 438
funded, 38
fundraising, 666
inactive, 5
inactive_expired, 6439
in_repayment, 90980
issue, 41
paid, 289909
refunded, 4187

Vijay.

Actually, 438 sounds like a believable number of expirations.  I would probably have guessed lower.  Expiration was a very rare event until somewhat recently.

okay, thank you.  Just wanted to make sure, as there have been a few expired loans
recently, on most days.

Thank you.
