Announcing UB ACM Tech Talks / Call for Speakers

Hey everyone,

We're starting a speaker series over at UB, and are looking for speakers who want to talk about really cool tech/hacker/entrepreneurial things. We're looking to have local guys come in every other week and talk about awesome stuff. That would make it a tech talk each week for the remainder of the semester. 

We started yesterday with Raj Suchak of Cloud62, but Thurs at 5PM isn't the greatest time and it sometimes conflicts with departmental speakers. So the game plan is to switch it to Tuesdays at 6pm.

Let me know if you're interested, or have questions. The following days are available:

• April 30

There are some things I could do. Let me know if you'd like ONE of them.  I could give my talk on the history and evolution of database systems. I also have one that I think I will do at Barcamp this week on automation causing jobs to evaporate. Or, I could maybe talk on careers in CS and IT. None of this is really hacker stuff, exactly. My preference would be #1. Let me know if you are interested.

Of course we're interested! Yes, definitely. The talk on the evolution of database systems sounds great. Which date works for you? (Psst we're still open on the 5th which is the next scheduled talk)

Hey all,

So talks are actually Mondays at 6. There was a scheduling conflict within the department. Same weeks but shifted to the day before.

Sorry about the confusion.

And if you would like to speak and those weeks don't work, let me know. Maybe we can work something out.
