This will be a discussion of an ancient Indian text by the scholar-monk, Vasubandhu (ca. 4th Century CE), one of the seminal philosophers of the Yogacara school of Buddhism. This text discusses the nature of reality and the relationship between enlightened and ordinary experience. The Yogacara system is one of the pillars of Mahayana Buddhist philosophy, underlying both Tibetan Buddhism and Zen.
The lecturer, Derek Heyman, Ph.D. will discuss the text and will be happy to take questions from the attendees.
