Hi
You need to connect through a vpn which will provide you an IP number as if you were in a different country.
I used it for some time when I wanted to watch french television on internet.
I used to use vpnvision for French TV (very good but with two kids I don't have time for TV!). It is all in french so I don't think this helps you.
I guess can you can find something similar for other countries.
You can also connect through VPN to a friend/family member in your country. But that means they'd have to have a connected computer all the time.

This sounds more like a Budapest Dads question....which I can help with because I have already done it.

You are going to need two things, a VPN or DNS proxy (VPN is a more expensive option so I use SmartDNSproxy.com - $50 for two years) and a second modem to run it on. I have an Asus but you need to check that you can access your routers admin panel. These modems cost about 7-10k

Internet runs into the original modem, that modem is connected by ethernet to the new modem, you load the proxy onto the new modem, then you connect your devices to the new modem.

I've got Echo, smarttv, and FireTv all streaming Amazon content with few minor hiccups.

If you have a FireStick or FireTv I would also be happy to show you how to be able to watch almost anything you would like. Just do a search for Kodi FireTv and you'll see what can become available to you.

If you or anyone else has questions please feel free to drop me a note directly.

Liam

Dear Moms and Dads,

Does anyone have a pair of snow pants/trousers for a three-year old they'd like to sell?

I am finally succumbing to the teachers' requests to dress my son in -20C gear when it's 10C outside.  The Canadian in me has resisted until now, but I give up.  I missed the window for finding new ones in stores, so I'm looking for a second-hand one.

I prefer not to spend time searching around second hand shops, so please contact me directly if you have one for sale: bahg...@yahoo.com

Thank you,
Dorit

Ah, my husband and I have been wondering that!  We have the Fire Stick, so hoping we can find a way to make it work there.  We'll be there by April.

Hi!
We are using Amazon Prime with PureVPN https://www.purevpn.com/, costs 50 US Dollars for one year, or 10 dollars for one month, and our router supports VPN client so we did not need to use additional hardware, just enter the data for the VPN client in the router. No glitches, it works very well. Apparently the VPN data can be hacked into the FireStick (or however the Amazon's USB stick is called) and the support of PureVNP say they are willing to assist to set it up.
Hope this helps!

@Liamcrow, why does it sound like a Budapest dads question? Is there a gender patent on proxy connections?

BudapestParents may actually be a better name for the group, not sure how easy it would be technically to change, but probably not very...
Just a thought.

Hi all, we had this discussion years ago about possibly changing the name and how we could make fathers feel more welcome here. It would take a bit of work to change the logo and name of the group, facebook page, and website. We decided to create a Budapest Dads logo and add a section to the website (to which Dads are welcome to contribute).

Men have always been welcome to post here, and to attend our activities. When I actively went to the weekly BP Moms playgroups there were also men regularly attending and we had two fathers at our monthly coffee meeting just today!

So let's continue to make sure that everyone and their contributions are welcomed.

Best,
Marley

Hi Liam!  We have finally settled in Budapest, and are living in District V, near the University (by Egyetemi Templom).  No idea where to locate the equipment we need to be able to access our FireStick content (Netflix and Amazon Prime) -- and I think that you said we'd need a separate modem from the one that came with this furnished apartment, and any needed cables, etc.  I also looked up the Kodi Fire TV info/steps, but not sure if that's something we do once we have all the necessary equipment (?).

Would love to get this going soon, and would so appreciate your guidance.  A lovely bottle of wine is in it for you (if you drink) or whatever else might make it worth your while.  My husband feels intimidated by the prospect of messing with the router's admin panel.

Thanks!
Libby

Hi, wondering how we would be able to tell if the router that came with our apartment supports VPN client and how we'd enter the data for the VPN client into the router.  You mentioned PureVPN membership and that they are willing to assist with set-up.  So would you suggest I go ahead and sign-up for PureVPN and then call them and they would likely know all the answers, and guide us in what type of additional equipment we need (if any) to complete the set-up?

We have an Amazon FireStick.

Thanks for your assistance!

Hi Libby,
we are passing through your area on Friday somewhere between 16:00 and 18:00. If you can entertain my kids & wife who will be in dire need of a coffee and lots of running after a two hour ride I could have a look and figure out if you need additional hardware and how to set it up.

Hi Chris!

Yes, that sounds great.  Our sitter will be here during that time, but I can take your wife out for a coffee down below our apartment and the kids can go run around together with mine (6 y/o b/g twins) in the plaza there and we can all walk over to the park just a block away.  Come on over.

Email me privately for my address and phone number and we'll connect that way, thanks!
