Hello moms,

I am looking for an advice on places to take my 9 month old twins in Pest on a daily basis.

We used to have really nice walks, however since they started moving being in a strawler for more than 30 min-1 hour is a torture for them. They start getting fussy and try getting out of it pretty vigorously. So I decided to try a playground... well, don't think it was a good idea for them at this age. All the kids there could walk and there was not really any place for actively crawling babies, so I decided to put them in a sandbox... while I was trying to catch my happily eating sand and escaping son, my daughter also decided to taste it and got sick right away. Nothing serious, but I was pretty shocked to find multiple tiny stones in the sandbox, which are a potential choking hazard for my little put-everything-in-their mouth twins (we even brought one with us home somehow but I luckily discovered it before them).
We used to go to the Margaret island and Varosliget as well, but again, same story. As soon as I take them out of the strawler, they find the nastiest things on the ground and pull them in their mouth...
I start thinking that probably our balcony is the best place for them to hang out :(

Thus, I am wondering if anyone could suggest any proper open-air place for very active little ones of that age somewhere close to Octogon?

Thank you!
Lilit

Hello Lilit,

We lived on Jokai Ter and I used to take my son to Szabadsag, Jaszai Mari ter (it now has two sections, one on each side of the road), Honved ter, Hunyadi ter, Karolyi Kert and the Margit playground. To be honest, I didn't worry too much about him picking things up, although he was never really mad keen on chewing on sand ;-) But I just let go a bit.. and to be honest. The only period he used to be often ill during, was winter when we didn't go to the playgrounds and he didn't have the "natural" dirt. I believe some sort of dirt is good for them :-)

Must be difficult with twins though, I can imagine. The Hunyadi ter playground is enclosed and small, the one on Jaszai Mari ter is quite good too for that age, especially the new bit I think.
