Hello everyone,

I have an opportunity to go in to Telki on Monday and talk to the head
pediatrician and head midwife there about their breastfeeding support.
This is a wonderful opportunity to improve their breastfeeding
support!

So. If you gave birth at Telki, please let me know about your
breastfeeding experiences and how well supported / informed you felt
by hospital staff. And please forward this email to anyone who gave
birth there and you think might be interested in contributing their
story!

You could either just drop me a note to let me know your experiences,
OR answer the following questions (or both) :) It would be incredibly
helpful for me if I could present them with actual feedback from
mothers who gave birth there!

- Do you feel you received timely and appropriate support for
breastfeeding? Why or why not?
- Were you able to breastfeed your baby immediately (within an hour or
two) after birth? Did you receive support or information about how and
why to do this?
- Were you able to successfully breastfeed your baby while you were at
the hospital? (By successful I mean largely pain-free and baby taking
in at least a few drops of colostrum.) Did you receive support and
information about how and why to do this?
- Did you receive help in how to position the baby or achieve a good,
pain-free latch?
- Were you advised on the desired frequency of breastfeeding a
newborn? What was the specific advice? Did it work for you?
- Were you advised on the desired duration of breastfeeding a newborn?
What was the specific advice? Did it work for you?
- Were you advised on how to tell whether your baby was taking in
sufficient milk?
- Were you able to establish a successful breastfeeding relationship
after leaving the hospital? (By successful I mean pain-free,
sufficient quantity for growth, and for as long as you
planned/desired.)
- Did your baby receive sugar water or formula while you were at the hospital?
- Did your baby receive a bottle or a pacifier against your wishes or
without your knowledge at the hospital?
- Do you feel the hospital staff were knowledgeable and helpful to you
about breastfeeding questions, problems, concerns?

Thank you very much! Hopefully, your answers will allow Telki hospital
staff to better support their breastfeeding moms in the future!
