I use both Android BubbleUPnP and BubbleUPnP server (Raspberry Pi version) to control a CA CXNv2. This has worked for many years without problems, but since an update to the firmware of this device (October25), it has started to fail streams occasionally. Just stops, or sometimes moves on to next track. This behaviour also occurs when the CXNv2 is streaming internet radio using the stored preset URLs, which suggests that the problem is not with the UPnP side. However, Cambridge say they are not experiencing these issues with other users and they will keep investigate, but obviously with low urgency.

Just mentioning this in case other CXNv2 users have experienced issues.

For information, they also say that BubbleUPnP is not an officially supported control point  "so there may be an element of incompatibility introduced by recent changes on either side". From reading their forum comments, I get the impression that few of their users use UPnP, prederring to use their proprietary app.

Comments welcome.
Marmite.

Hi,

Please send  the log file of BubbleUPnP Server (to bubblesof...@gmail.com) after the problem you describe just happened.
Filename is BubbleUPnPServer.log.0 is but not sure where it is located on your Pi.

This problem has now been solved, for me at any rate.

I had replaced a TP-Link router with a different one (TL-WDR3600), and the new one was set to monitor network traffic, which is part of the security settings to detect DoS attacks. This caused occasional interference with the Cambridge Audio device, which disappeared when the monitor was turned off. I have apologized to CA for questioning their update, but I suggested they look into why this router setting should affect the CXNv2.

Regards and Happy New Year,
Marmite.
