Oklahoma tornado relief

Oklahoma's DHS has an overwhelming need for beds and bedding items in the
aftermath of the devastating tornado in Oklahoma. Local churches and
charities have are coordinating a large scale relief drive of DHS-requested
emergency bedding items to be sent down to at-risk and foster care children
in the Moore/Oklahoma City area.

Summer Camp Parent Sign Up

It's hard to believe that we are less than six weeks away from Summer Camp at Boxwell Scout Reservation!

This year we have over 40 Scouts attending so it is important that we have sufficient adult coverage to maintain a safe and supervised environment for our Scouts. Due to our numbers, we need at least six adults at Boxwell at all times. This will help insure that we can properly maintain two deep leadership for the different circumstances that we typically encounter during camp.

Horseback Riding Trip - Reminder

Try to be at the church before 6 so we can get on the road as quickly as possible.

There is a high percentage chance of rain for this weekend so be sure to have rain gear. As usual, you should also wear synthetic clothes which will dry quickly.

Double check your gear list and be prepared.

Hi Troop Families~ Just wanted to give you a heads up that I will be collecting payments tonight for the following: 1) horseback riding weekend (happening May 4th) 2) summer camp (happening June 23rd) 3) survival weekend/advanced backpacking-missed payments Also, please submit any expense receipts for the outings that have recently occurred. We are in the process of shortening the reimbursement window so that we can better track cost/expense of each trip to help us plan in the future. May 3-5 Troop 13 will be traveling to Jamestown, TN to go horseback riding in Big South Fork National Park. The weekend will provide the opportunity to earn the Horseback Riding Merit Badge. We will also be camping for two nights and have the opportunity to do some fishing!

The cost for this weekend is $125. We need your reservation by Monday, April 29.

Clarification concerning this weekend

I have had some questions come up from parents and just wanted to try and clarify a few things about this weekend.

This weekend's outing is divided into two separate events.
- Wilderness Survival Merit Badge
- Tenderfoot to First Class Camp-out.

They are both being held at the same property, but are separate events. The two groups will be doing separate activities in different areas of the property.
