Subject: Update - Silent Auction

3 weeks til the annual Troop 13 Ham Breakfast & Silent Auction!

*Thank you to the Price, Scott, MaGuirk and Quillman Families who have
logged in their auction items!*

*If you are traveling in the next few weeks or have family coming to
visit, think
about getting an item from those places, people are always looking for
unique Christmas gifts to purchase at the auction!*

Please remember that each family is expected to sell 20 breakfast tickets
PLUS provide items for the silent auction*!*

*You may provide your auction items in one of three ways:*
*
a - create a themed "basket" of goodies for the auction* ( examples = movie
night basket: RedBox gift card, popcorn and sweets; teachers gift basket:
note cards, treats, cocoa mix and mug; coffee lovers basket: gourmet coffee
beans, coffee carafe, and chocolate covered coffee beans, etc.)
*
b** - donate 3 individual items to the auction* (a gift card to Logans,
gift card to Barnes & Noble and a new iPod 5 case)
*
c** - donate a cash sum* (which would be used to purchase a large ticket
item for the auction)

You may solicit items from your favorite retailers or friends that have
connections or own a home-based business or you may purchase items yourself
and donate them.

*The items that had the most excitement in 2011* were: computer, unique
gift items, tickets for concerts and sporting events, "boy toys" (knives,
Lego sets), girl toys ( many AHG girls and their families came) and gift
certificates to local restaurants. *Examples of past donations* include:
Mac laptop, Predators tickets, Titans tickets, UT and Vanderbilt tickets,
country music memorabilia, sports memorabilia, camping equipment, car care
packages, movie night baskets, book lovers collection, cd collections,
massage gift certificates, beauty care products, plane tickets, home decor
items, service coupons, restaurant gift certificates, movie tickets and
much more!

*As you collect items, please fill out the online donation form which was
sent to you in a separate email.  **Entering the information for your items
is VERY important as we will be promoting the auction and breakfast via a
special website* and eliminates the need to keep up with paper donation
forms and auction bid sheets.
*We will do all the paperwork for you if you fill out the form for each
item! *

*Attached is a copy of a solicitation letter you may provide store
owners/vendors detailing what the auction is about, information about the
troop and tax ID information for tax purposes*.  Print this letter, sign it
and take it with you when you go to solicit auction items.

*Please do not solicit any grocery stores, Costco or Honey Baked Ham
locations for donations.** * There is a team that has been assigned to
grocery stores for food donations.  This helps avoid having repeat requests
from different families for Ham Breakfast food items.  If you have a
connection with a store that would help obtain the donation, please contact
Jim Clark.

*NEW this year - we have an auction website! *
As you enter your items via the online donation form, our team will put
them onto the website!
Look at the website now, but there are only a few items listed at this
time.  This will be an excellent tool to promote the Ham Breakfast and
Auction via email and social media as we get closer to the event.

This web tool allows us to generate donation letters for tax purposes,
create receipts for all buyers and also help us track items and donors for
future events!

Please check out the auction website at
http://www.charityauctionorganizer.com/auction/troop13hambreakfast

Please email me if you have any questions about the auction!  We look
forward to another fantastic auction and ham breakfast this year!
