The New York Rugby Week events for girls and boys ages 8 to 14
culminate in the inaugural Mayor's Cup Rugby Festival, also at Baker
Field Athletic Complex from 12.00 to 16.00 EDT (16.00 to 20.00 GMT) on
June 7.
The event will feature 24 youth teams representing all five boroughs
of the city all competing for the Mayor's Cup, which will be housed in
the Sports Museum of America in Lower Manhattan.
This is the competition we hope to be in next year! Feel free to swing
by and see some youth rugby.

Lastly, don't forget that June 8th is our picnic day; medals and

to add to the grill!

I promised some rugby notes from time to time, so here's a clip of one
of the most spectacular tries scored in the 2007 Rugby World Cup.
South Africa won, but on the way they met the USA team. The USA Eagles
are currently ranked 19th in the world, and displayed a great presence
in the World Cup. Have a look at this plucky try from Z Ngwenya
against South Africa:

And for those of you still having trouble with the rules, here's a fun
video that introduces rugby for video game players:
