Hi all,

First and foremost, I want to apologise for the dearth in
communication lately, it's been a crazy period at work with me working
nights and weekends and every spare minute, hopefully the rush is over
at this point. (I still need PHP programmers and a Linux sysadmin if
you know anyone.)

I've got two events I need to run through, so please read on.

Saturday May 17th is New York Rugby Club's Friends and Family day, I
believe it's planned for Inwood Park (anyone care to confirm?) and
promises to be a great day to celebrate rugby in New York. If we can
get enough Dragons together for the Saturday, I'd like to run an
exhibition game for the kids before the grown-ups start playing.

The NYRC Under 19s that have been helping us coach this season will
also be playing that day, as will most if not all the NYRC teams, so
those of you who have never seen rugby up close will get a treat. If
Dave manages to convince me, I might even throw on a pair of boots.

We'd love to have the kids come up and show off their rugby skills and
meet some of the local players, and wolf down as many hot dogs as they
can manage.

I'm still waiting to hear from many of you whether you can make it for
a morning game, you don't have to surrender the whole day, although
it'll be a great day in the park if you can.

Secondly, we've been planning a tournament day to close the season
out, which was originally scheduled for June 1. Several of you have
told me you'll be running the Prospect Park race that day, it's a big
event and I don't want anyone to miss out on the trophies and medals
we have to give away. (Coaches, we really need help on our tournament
day, please let me know if you're available.)

I'd like to propose that we strike Memorial Day weekend from the
roster and add a day on in June, so that our final day would be Sunday
June 8. Please let me know if this doesn't work for you.

Pending a deluge of "we can't make it on the 8th" E-mails, we'll be
removing Memorial Day weekend's practice and holding the tournament
day on Sunday June 8. We'll follow that with a barbecue.
