DiscoTech (digital justice) spirit ricocheting around

Hi Diana,

    Via Greg Bloom I got involved in several DiscoTech events here in the DC-area that were a lot of fun. At a DiscoTech event last year I taught a workshop titled, "High Definition Video for Community Purposes."  That informal, small workshop was so well received it became the basis of a fee-based class I teach at my place of work, the Takoma Park Community Center, in Takoma Park, Maryland (a close-in suburb of Washington DC.)

     Now in mid-April I'll be teaching this workshop for free at the Cleveland Mini Maker Faire, which

will be taking place at the Cleveland Public Library on Saturday, April 13, 2013.

      I wanted to take a moment to thank you and the others in Detroit who got the digital justice ball rolling. That ball has rolled around DC several times and is now rolling over to Cleveland. 

        If people in Cleveland ask me about the origins of the workshop I'm teaching, I'll be referring them back to Detroit.
