I've also deleted the offending messages and reported them to google.
The members who posted them have been banned.

thanks Tim for setting the moderation thing.

We did have it set that you had to approve all members but that tends
to deter genuine members from signing up, so apologies for the spam

Hi all,
Apologies for the spam which has come through recently. I've now
changed the list settings so that messages from new members go into
moderation. I think this is better than starting to approve all new
memberships to the list.

Remember BarCamp Bristol last October? Well, it's happening
again...sort of! This year's local BarCamp is happening in Bath, so
has been cunningly named BathCamp.

Hi Skillswap List Admin (Ed? Laura?),
do you think the group membership should be set to require moderator
approval to reduce the spam coming through the list? I'm presuming
google groups comes with such a setting?

Thu 29th May, Pervasive Media Studio. Doors open 6pm for milling
before the talk at 6:30pm.

Due to recent demand, May's skillswap will be on database design and
query building / optimisation. Title and exact content to be

Hi all,
[Apologies for those who've seen this on _ already]
Incredibly disorganised klutz that I am, I've just picked up my
newly-repaired Powerbook from Farpoint (who were fine, if it did take
three weeks to get around to doing the repair) to discover that I left
the power supply at home.
