The Adobe guys certainly played this card close to their chests at
FotB. I'm really looking forward to having a play with this when the
Beta comes out.

Just in case any of you guys haven't clocked this yet, here are the
links.

Some interesting takes on this:

Seems like the general consensus is that Adobe have done this without
the blessing of Apple, so it remains to be seen whether they will
respond in some way.

I've tried out some of those apps already in the store that are made
with Flash and they're very basic, so I'm not convinced what kind of
performance we can expect from something a bit more involved.

I'm actually in the CS5 pre-release testing (shh!) and downloaded the
latest version yesterday which contains the ability to publish to
iphone, so in theory I could start creating and submitting some apps.
Haven't really got the time at the moment though... but hopefully will
get to have a play with it soon.

Hello All,

First things first, let me introduce myself. I'm a Flash developer
living in the Bristol area and I joined this group last week after
spotting it in Google Groups, but since then, haven't really being
paying attention! Until this CS5/iPhone stuff came up ...

I've been a professional games developer for years, and been involved
in Flash gaming development since 2001 and as such, I'm itching to
know whether the quality of the CS5->Native iPhone export is going to
be good enough for some decent gaming experiences.

And Mr Burvs - if you give the CS5 pre-release beta a test re : the
iPhone publishing, then if you could post your thoughts on
performance, restrictions etc, then it would be MOST helpful. I'm
already updating my game framework to cater for the possible iPhone
deployment option ;-)

Many thanks,

Andy
