yo - again :)

i'm in the market for a new hosting co after being royally screwed
once too many times by 1&1 and fh in the past - are there any good
hosting cos these days?

looking for:

- actual - possibly v-server (in the past i've found that v-servers
behave differently and have strange configurations that mess things up
so would prefer a real server).
- running windows 08
- allow full access so i can install mysql and ms sql and an email server
- would like a cpanel but not really that bothered as am capable of
sys admin but would prefer automation over configuration.
- configurable firewall
- multi ip so i can host a vm or 2
- quick setup time - would like to move in before the start of next week

anyone know a good co which doesn't have 1&1 or fasthost in the name?

I'm using Tagadab and Rapidhost which both have cheap VPSs. They'll both be
set up within an hour or so. I think one of them was instance, Tagadab
maybe.

I'd recommend Bytemark (http://www.bytemark.co.uk). They might not be
the cheapest hosting around and I don't have any experience of their
Windows hosting, but they're fairly clueful.

We have used bytemark for a few years - and found the service excellent
(cheap too and with full shell access)

Hey, that's pretty cheap!! But what do they mean by 'line of business
applications'?

i think it may be where the users credentials are passed through to
the sql server to allow for data filtering and per user security at
the db level - not clear though - i think this is ok as my web based
apps all have a single per app credential - so wont use as many
licenses - i think :s

cheers for the refs guys -
