HI iestyn,

I'm not really inclined to include that list as they may not be in the
technology space and they may not be part of this list.

Using the dev toolbar for IE7, is there a way to edit a "live" copy of
the CSS like there is in the Firefox dev toolbar ? I can't even see a
way to easily view the f***** css, let alone see how changes to the CSS
will impact on your page.

Can you chaps view this site in flavours of IE (don't bother with 7) and
tell me if you see a nav pane on the left hand side of the page at this
url?

http://www.irwinmitchell.com/Recruitment/

I'm seeing some machines here that cant see any nav pane on the left
hand side of the page in IE.

Hey Olly

I don't know if this f**king works in IE7 but it certainly f*king did in IE
fu*king 6:

http://www.nikhilk.net/Project.WebDevHelper.aspx

It's actually a very f*king handy little f*king tool, combined with fidller
you cant really go f*king wrong.

I do believe that it allows you to select a node in the DOM and edit it's
f*king properties at r*n time. You could just edit the f*king source and hit
the f*king refresh mind.

How's IE7 treating you thus far? I downloaded a (f*king)beta of Office 2007
yesterday including One Note, haven't had much chance to f*ck around with it
yet bu tit seems groovey enough, though the new stylee menus dont seem to be
there.

IE7 is fine. Not enough to make me leave FF, but almost there. Don't
like the menu/toolbar area though. It's like an unpleasant halfway house
between Office 2007 and normal IE.

Office 2007 beta roxor. How are you finding Outlook and onenote (best
app ever) ?

Its had bad reviews. Its not that its bad, its just not much of
anything.

How about the new nokia with 3m pixel camera and 4gb hard disk? Great
big screen (for a phone). Bluetooth can be used to link it to loads of

Hi Listers

Probably a long shot by this time on a Friday but anyway........

Take a look at

http://www.mikethecow.co.uk/test.html

Using Andrew Collington's excellent Crop Canvas script

http://php.amnuts.com/

It's all great - doing its thing except I can't get dynamic filenames to
work like in the above bold underlined part of the script.

All variables are returning - I have tried every combination of "'..'" I can
think of - file is saving fine just without a filename or just with dots and
speech marks.

Can anyone suggest how I escape this variable name?

Many thanks - good weekend one 'n' all

hi all,

how about splitting the flickr off into a bnm flickr feed?

in fact we could just use this feed:

http://www.flickr.com/groups/bnm/pool/feed/?format=rss_200

then we can save the bnm blogs feed for blogs, i.e. things that are written!

thoughts?

I agree with Josh, if your blog feed has more photos than written
content then maybe you should not be on the written blog feed but the
flickr feed as Josh has posted. If your blog feed is mainly photos
please ask for it to be removed.

If anyone reading the written blog feeds finds a blog feed that
consists of photos please let me know and i will try and resolve the
issue.

Thanks.

Not like me to be disagreeable.....oh, okay, yes it is....but I quite
like having the photos mixed in with the thoughts. We're a fairly

No. But as a compromise perhaps the people who have their Flickr feed

Yeah but people could submit feed links for a particular tag, if you see

but that's exactly what people do on the bnm flickr group...

why ask them to do 2 things?

http://www.flickr.com/groups/bnm/pool/feed/?format=rss_200

screw it, i'll just unsubscribe from the feed...

i thought it would be useful to hear peoples thoughts and opinions all
in one place, and discover new local new media blogs.. but this just
ruins it. dilutes it. it's a shame.

Hi,

Sorry for the slow response, I've been in a meeting all evening. Okay to
make this try and appeal to all I have created a new feed called
bnm-generalwhich will consume the
bnm feed/list. The bnm list will 'try' and consist of more text based
content and bnm-general will.... well yeah, be a general bnm feed.

bnm

http://www.google.co.uk/reader/view/user/14585389088769312835/label/bnm
Atom feed

http://www.google.co.uk/reader/public/atom/user/14585389088769312835/label/bnm

bnm-general
http://www.google.co.uk/reader/view/user/14585389088769312835/label/bnm-general

Atom feed
http://www.google.co.uk/reader/public/atom/user/14585389088769312835/label/bnm-general

if you wish a blog to be taken off the bnm feed (and it's valid) let me
know - this will however still be available via bnm-general feed

is this getting complicated?

yes it is :)

basically you've created an off-topic rule. which is fine. but the
best way to stay on topic is...... to stay on topic..

i say keep the feed for text blogs, don't have the general (off-topic,
for photos) feed... and let's just use the already existing bnm flickr
group. then it can just go back to how it was..

but i can see i'm fighting a losing battle on this one.. is this what
the semantic web is all about?!?! or did i miss the point on that
one..

i can hear you all crying out "shut up Josh" :)

As it stands you don't have to change anything - only request a blogs be
moved to the other feed (which you would have to request for its removal
anyway).

hi all,

so, in my opinion this feed is becoming pointless.

i'm looking at it as it stands now, and a quarter of it is flickr
photos. a third of it was flickr photos the other day.

this means i'm missing content. the last item in the feed is new. so
whatever dropped off the end is unknown. it could have been new too..
we'll never know.

what makes it worse is that the photos aren't anything to do with BNM
or BNM related subjects.

"context", people!

so i'm going to make one that is just text feeds, no flickr. this is
for my own use, but if anyone wants it, or wants to stick something on
it, give me a shout and i'll get round to it...

what a shame.

Personally, I am very happy with the BNM Bloggers feed. I look at it
via Feedreader and have enjoyed: finding out about Snipperoo; Tom's
blog finds; the Trabant saga; Mr Callender's photos; and other random
stuff.

what's the point of shouting to the public about something you're doing
for personal use?

Why don't you just set it up & post a link on the list, if anyone is
interested they'll check it out, if not........

I don't mind the photos, it's the MMS furniture I object to:

The photo you were looking for has been deleted.

You might like to ask Jim Callender about it!

HI All,

Can i remind people of this post i made:

----
.... Okay to make this try and appeal to all I have created a new feed
called bnm-general which will consume the bnm feed/list. The bnm list

will 'try' and consist of more text based content and bnm-general
will.... well yeah, be a general bnm feed.

bnm

http://www.google.co.uk/reader/view/user/14585389088769312835/label/bnm
Atom feed

http://www.google.co.uk/reader/public/atom/user/14585389088769312835/label/bnm

if you wish a blog to be taken off the bnm feed (and it's valid) let
me know - this will however still be available via bnm-general feed

----

If people wish a blog feed to be taken of the text feed but left on
the general feed then please let me know.

FYI: The general feed consumes the 'text feed' and has other feeds
added which people require

I hope that helps.

I don't really use it much, it's more of a learning thing for me, when I
have time, but I have every intention of getting more into it! [I'm sure we
all say that]
