Subject: [BNM] tills for restaurant
Anyone got any experience with these new-fangled tills?

My local restaurant wants to buy a new one, with a hand set for taking
orders at the tables, setting up a tab for the tables, stock control (so it
needs to hook into a PC program somewhere along the line) and preferably
multi-lingual, with programmable buttons or touchscreen.

second hand is fine too.

anyone know what system/model to go for, or avoid?
cheers,
simon

Don't know the name of it, but my local newsagent when I lived in Wimbledon had a Linux based touchscreen Point Of Sale machine which had the security cameras integrated into it so you could watch the little thieves whilst racking up the orders!

A quick google search brings up a few promising looking results.

You should talk to alphameric - I think they specialise on POS for
hospitality.
